- In August 2009, UNC TV filmed a segment of the PBS show “The Woodwright’s Shop with Roy Underhill” at the Silk Hope Farm Heritage Center. The show primarily studied the steam powered equipment including the door shop. Our local craftsmen gave Roy an in-depth lesson on using steam for powering our sawmill, planing and edging machines, our door and window shop and the cotton bale press. View photos from this event
